Orthodontic treatment gradually moves teeth into a better position using controlled, gentle pressure โ either through fixed braces or a series of removable clear aligners. It's used to correct crowding, gaps, and bite problems, which can make teeth easier to clean and more comfortable to bite and chew with.
Signs You May Need This
- Crowded, overlapping, or gapped teeth
- Upper and lower teeth that don't meet evenly when biting down (overbite, underbite, or crossbite)
- Difficulty cleaning between crooked or overlapping teeth
- Jaw discomfort or clicking that your dentist has linked to bite alignment
What Happens During Treatment
- 1Initial consultation, examination, and X-rays/photos to assess alignment and bite
- 2Treatment planning to decide between fixed braces or clear aligners and estimate duration
- 3Fixed braces: brackets are bonded to the teeth and connected with an archwire, adjusted at periodic visits
- 4Clear aligners: a series of custom trays is provided, each worn for a set period before moving to the next
- 5Regular review appointments to monitor progress and make adjustments
- 6Retainers fitted at the end of active treatment to hold the new position
What's Included
- Self-ligating braces โ a bracket design intended to ease adjustment and cleaning
- Clear aligners โ a transparent, removable option
- Consultation and treatment planning
- Instalment payment plans available
Aftercare
- Some soreness for a few days after braces are fitted or tightened, or when starting a new aligner, is normal
- Extra care with brushing and flossing around brackets and wires to avoid plaque buildup
- Avoid hard, sticky, or chewy foods that can damage brackets or wires
- Wear retainers exactly as instructed โ orthodontic results can relapse if retainers are skipped
Treatment duration depends on individual circumstances, typically between 12-24 months. We will monitor your progress throughout treatment.
